Talib is also involved with the Washington Bar Association and the Capital Area Muslim Bar Association. Advocacy runs in the veins of the Talib family, Talib's wife, brother, sister, and three sister-in-laws are members of the legal profession. Talib's legal career was inspired by his late father, a civil rights leader who worked with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and initiated a federal class-action suit that ended decades of discrimination in Memphis, TN.
